Transport pathway

As a Graduate Transport and Development Planner, you’ll play a key role in shaping Kent’s transport infrastructure to support sustainable development.

Working within our highways and transportation team, you will:

  • assess planning applications
  • advise district councils
  • help secure funding for highway schemes
  • contribute to the development of local plans
  • coordinate innovative projects which improve service delivery and align with corporate objectives
  • review transport assessments, travel plans and modelling outputs
  • ensure transport investment supports Kent’s strategic goals by collaborating with stakeholders including National Highways, developers and community groups.

Salary

You will receive a starting salary of £30,404 which will increase as you progress.

Training

We will support you by offering structured training, regular feedback and a dedicated support network.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and develop key skills in transport planning, project management and stakeholder engagement.

The transport pathway includes an embedded Associate Project Manager apprenticeship to support your professional development.
