An exciting opportunity has arisen, with the appointment of Kent’s current Operational Children’s Services Director to the post of Director of Children’s Services in Devon, for the right professional to join our outstanding team of staff and senior leaders in Kent.
In May 2022, Kent Children’s Services were judged to be Outstanding by Ofsted, and more recently in May 2023 during a joint thematic inspection by HMIP (His Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation) and Ofsted inspectors found continued outstanding social work being delivered for the most vulnerable of our children. Our aspiration to continue to deliver for our children and young people is as strong as ever, and we are looking for a new director with that same desire to do even better than before.
Kent is a very large and diverse local authority with unique challenges, including a long costal border, close proximity to London and a mix of rural and urban communities with differing needs and complexities. Are you the type of inclusive and innovative leader who is excited by the prospect and challenge of delivering excellence at scale, whilst being able to maintain focus on the needs of individual children and their families?
